preface & How I view Recipes

Creating a website has been a little idea of mine for a while now. Although my photography journey is still just beginning, I wanted a place to showcase my work and make the Fujifilm Recipes that I’ve been using available to others, especially to the people that have been asking me about it. These days it seems like everyone is trying to sell you something. And while there’s nothing wrong with making money from your digital goods, I think there should be a line: trying to sell Fujifilm Recipes.

Recently, I’ve come across people trying to sell their Recipes and honestly, it just doesn’t sit right with me. To me Fujifilm recipes are part of a great community built around sharing, experimenting and inspiring each other. I just think that selling them goes against what makes this community so special.

The Fujifilm X100VI is the first camera I have ever owned and as many of you I like a good Fujifilm Recipe. However many recipes go into a direction that don’t resonate with me. The use of mist filters and golden hour tones are just overdone in my opinion. Neon Days came to life by accident and Neon Nights wasn’t made by me. These Recipes where used 95% of the time on my recent South Korea trip. (Classic Chrome and Classic Negative are my favorite Film Simulations currently)

Since I shoot RAW + JPEG, I see Recipes as more of a starting point than a finished look. They give me a good foundation to work with when editing, although quite often the images turn out so good straight out of camera that only a few small adjustments are needed to get the look that I want. At the end of the day, I think the most important thing is getting a good shot that you can work with and worry about everything else later.

Good Recipes are great if you dont care about editing that much or want to send the pictures to someone straight away, which I sometimes do too, either way Recipes are a great tool to have.
